Mission
Statement
Joshua 's ongoing and continuing care is very costly. The Friends Of Joshua Goldstein Foundation has been established to raise money through various fund raising events to provide for his immediate and long term needs. It is the mission of this corporation to achieve the following goals as set forth by the board of directors.
Short-term goal:
To provide for Joshua Goldstein’s immediate needs. This includes medical
supplies, nourishment, special education supplies and other necessities to
provide for his well-being and happiness. Also, to develop and maintain a
web site to provide medical information, links to related sites and information
to benefit other families.
Intermediate 5-year goal:
To finance, design and build a totally handicapped accessible house built around
the needs of Joshua. This would include special ramps, bathroom and shower room
facilities and other necessary equipment to provide for Joshua’s care.
Long term Goal:
Joshua has a normal life expectancy and will most likely outlive his
parents. His family wants to provide long term perpetual care for Joshua in the
usual manner to which he is accustomed. They never want Joshua to be put into an
institution or state care. To do this, this Foundation will establish and fund
a “Special Needs Trust”. This trust would provide the necessary financing
needed to provide for his care. This would provide Joshua with round-the-clock
nursing supervision, maintain his special housing and it’s related expenses
and for Joshua’s education and entertainment.
